Seasoned Spigot and Veteran Fangtooth

Recommended Posts

Well that makes 6 Solthecians, including a captain and mascot, and brings the Union count to 20.

20! I'm a Union guy through and through so love the diversity, but fish will only have 13 after this (15 when Navigators are released). Is this Solthecians minor release by stealth?

I'm also hoping that Fangtooth is huge. His original model is fairly big, and the armour on Benediction is quite extensive, and it looks like he's got the world's biggest club to swing. Please be 50mm, pretty please.

I want a 50mm Fangtooth too if only because I've ordered the "Believers" bases from the Broken Toad Kickstarter and there are only 2 x 40mm bases which will have to be used for Benediction and Pride.

Hmm... that would be 6 models for a Solthecian minor guild.  sBrisket Benediction Grace sSpigot vFangtooth Pride with Benny and Grace also playing for Union and oHarry and Mist also playing for Solthecians.  I wonder if they'll get another separate minor guild release or just remain as they are.

They'll be available from the BrokenToad webstore in the future, so at least there will be a solution if you end up not having enough bases.

I thought vSpigot also worked for the church?

vSpigot Is a Brewer player and works only for them, Seasoned Spigot plays for the Union and It would seem be a Solthecian now.

Anyone else think they're priming the union to split into two complete guilds by S4?  With this box, they'll be at 20 models w/ 3 captains and 3 mascots, right?  Six more models with a captain and mascot gets them up to 26, enough to draw the line at the average size of the other guilds.  As a Spigot fan, I'm excited about seasoned Spigot...as a Brewers fan, a little saddened.

I predict Solthecians will become the Union minor guild.  I spelled out my predicted break down above.

Jamie P has stated that all (or at least more) will be relieved later today..

For all I think most of us are expecting this to be a soft release for the Solthecian Minor Guild, the Lion, sSpigs and vFangtooth would need to do a lot to replace the likes of Decimate, Gutter and Minx from the original Union lineup..

There's an explanation post on the blog: http://steamforged.com/sfg-news-blog/the-soltheican-order

The packaging of vFangtooth and sSpigot seems a bit odd. I would have expected them to be in the Solthecious box and Mist and Harry to come in the  new beginnings box. That way you would only need to buy 1 box to get the 6 models for the minor guild (when it gets released).

It does look strange from the point of view of starting from scratch, but considering the history of how the game has changed to get to this point, and how the company has decided to make releases from now on, it does make distribution sense (I hold comment for how much sense it makes to consumers).

This gives Union 14 players (2 dual guild) and Order 6 players (2 dual guild). Union will lose one of its strengths of having a larger pool to pick from than other guilds. Maybe we should start thinking of the major/minor dual guild models as having no preferred team for themselves, much in the same way Compound and Lucky are considered.

(Also, can we have a 50mm, 3" melee vFangtooth with KD on 1 - an 8" parting blow nightmare. You know it makes sense! Pretty please!)

"Even though Grace, Benediction, Harry the Hat, and Mist are all going to become Order models, they will also become ‘dual Guild’ with the Union."

So, are the Order going to come in last then? Otherwise, these models won't be usable as Union-pick for other teams (until their Minor Guild is released ofcourse).

I think we can also see the theme of the Order. Farmers had reapers and planters, Blacksmiths had apprentices and masters. Order seem to have a "fast and fragile" and "slow and robust" split going on.

Fast: Mist, Grace, Spigot

Slow: Benediction, Fangtooth, Harry

I quite like it as it echoes the Union ability that the guild can play any way you want, fighting or scoring, but Order's players seem more specialised in doing one or the other. They seem to be lacking the flexibility that the likes of Decimate and Blackheart give to Union.
