Forum!

I put together a GBG about the controversial tactic of killing the ball. Hopefully, it will become a resource for those struggling to beat it. Let me know what you guys think!

Special thanks go out to Pat Vanvalzah, Kevin Stewart, and Zachary Gray for assisting with this video.

This seems to happen to me regularly, even though it's by accident via shitty scatter/throw ins. Nothing less fun than playing a ball game without a ball.

Is it a ball game?

I thought it was a skirmish game with a ball.! ;)

Good video.

Made me think a bit more structured about killing the ball. Or at least about how to retrieve it

Just watched this again.

I don't know if it would count as a "Gotcha" but can you run through the effectiveness or otherwise of the ball retrieval tactics that don't just involve hitting the :T: on your playbook ? Or maybe getting to that in a way that avoids some of the usual counters.

(e.g. Cinder can avoid the UM trick by tackling from range.)

Suggestions as to which of these tactics is most effective/reliable would also be appreciated.

I can look into this. I have already covered a bit of this when I talked about seduced and puppet master in episode 4. The issue with the other character plays that take the ball is that there is little to no counter play outside of having high defense or being outside of threat range. I’m worried I wouldn’t be able to cover an entire video with it.

There's a few other tools that do something, at least.

Clone, GMass and Beautiful work on basically everything

Close Control works against Hot Shot

Putting the ball on a model that's bad at kicking, or is crowded out a lot, makes Seduced and PM less reliable.
