  1. It was recently ruled that Decoy doesn't trigger until doing so has an effect. Is this the case for the Confidence character play as well? If the next character play used by the affected model does not roll dice because it either targets a friendly model or is an AoE play that doesn't cover any models, is Confidence consumed?

  5. Strongbox has a TAC of 2 and a 2 long playbook. Shelling out gives all models within 4" of Strongbox +1 TAC. Considering how Strongbox is within 4" of himself, this brings him to 3 TAC. When Veteran Rage pops My Gang, if he and Strongbox are engaging the same target then Bloody Coin turns on for the both of them, giving each of them a Ganging Up bonus and +1 TAC and +1 damage, bringing Strongbox to 5 TAC. If Veteran Rage then uses Red Fury on Strongbox so that he makes an attack on this target then, say it is a 4+ / 1 armor target, and select Strongbox's KD on the first attack. At this point, if you Bonus Time! the roll to hit 6 dice against a KD'd 4+/1 target, the math is: 90% chance for at least 2 successes -- non momentous 3 damage 68% chance for at least 3 successes -- momentous 5 damage 35.1% chance for at least 4 successes -- non momentous 6 damage 8.8% chance for 5 successes -- momentous 8 damage So, the expected value is 1 influence to a momentous 5 damage -- a great return on investment. Let's put Avarisse in there. Let's say that Avarisse is adding in a Singled Out and another Ganging Up bonus, bringing Strongbox to 8 TAC, rolling 9 with Bonus Time!. The math now becomes: 99.2% chance for at least 2 successes -- non momentous 3 damage 95.8% chance for at least 3 successes -- momentous 5 damage 85.5% chance for at least 4 successes -- non momentous 6 damage 65% chance for at least 5 successes -- momentous 8 damage 37.7% chance for at least 6 successes -- non momentous 9 damage 14.3% chance for at least 7 successes -- momentous 11 damage 2.6% chance for 8 successes -- non momentous 12 damage Without even that much setup, this turtle suddenly approaches Hooper levels of damage output. There really are not that many models which can lay claim to a real chance to pop momentous 5's off on a 4+/1 model, let alone momentous 8's. Granted you are Bonus Time!'ing these swings, but let's face it you're playing Veteran Rage you've got the momentum to spare, plus shelling out refunds you extra when you inevitably munch this model to pieces. And most interestingly, if Strongbox happens to be engaging an important model during the My Gang turn then Veteran Rage actually gets more mileage out of his influence feeding it to his turtle than using it himself -- and that's quite interesting. And, if you really want more momentum for some reason, you could just take those momentous 1 results on each wrap, netting you 2 damage and 1 momentum for each wrap touched. A 65% chance of a triply momentous 6 damage on one influence... I still don't think he'll replace Coin, even in a Veteran Rage team (god he loves that 2" melee), but this gives me some hope. The moral of the story: stay off Veteran Rage's pet turtle, because it bites.
