  1. Start 2018 off right in Central IL. The warm-up before The Warm-up Guild Ball 'Frosty Balls II' Presented by James Kroesch Basics: This is intended to be a 16 player Guild Ball tournament using Season 3 rules along with GICs and the new model releases. Location: Red Raccoon Games, 309 N Main St, Bloomington, IL 61701 USA Registration: $10 on the day of the event @ the store Date: Saturday, January 13th, 2018 Tournament Tentative Schedule: 10:00am to 10:30am - Registration -> Pre-register through Longshacks.org Facebook Link: coming soon Longshanks Link: http://longshanks.org/events/?event=667 Games start at 10:30am. Will have a lunch break after the first round. 3, 4, or 5 rounds depending on player turnout. Tournament Format: Regional Cup, up to 10-player roster, 45min chess clocks The final version of GICs to be released will be available to use. http://steamforged.com/sfg-news-blog/guild-identity-cards-final-update If you want to use a GIC, select and reveal along with Captain/Mascot. Players can choose not to use a GIC and will get the standard heal rate of 4. Appearance Standard: All models in play must be fully assembled, on appropriately sized bases. Painting is not required. Proxy Rule: Judge pre-approved proxies are permitted. Paper Doll proxies of any Season 3 characters released or unreleased are permitted. This means Farmers 2, Blacksmiths 2, and Skulk will all be league. Any newer players previewed on the Steam Forged Games blog with full front and back cards displayed will also be permitted provided they can be fielded by your declared Guild for the day. Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and best painted at least. Tentatively, based on attendance: Achievement based Raffle for the day Play your games, achieve certain events (ex takeout a mascot, successful shapshot, miss a 5 dice kick, etc.) Get a raffle ticket for each achievement. The Basics What Is FlatCon? http://flatcon.com/ Located on the expansive flatlands that are Central Illinois. FlatCon has been Bloomington-Normal’s premiere annual gaming convention since 2000. Running in 2017 from Friday, October 20th through the Sunday the 22nd, FlatCon is presented by Gamers For Life which supports the American Cancer Society through the Gamers For Life Relay for Life team. FlatCon’s attendees are “Scoring a Crit on Cancer” and doing some serious gaming! Whether you play Role-playing, Card, Board, Mini, LARP or other types of games that do not fit into a specific niche, you will find something fun to play FlatCon! But, wait! There’s more! FlatCon, also, has a large vendor area selling games and geekery, an annual Costume Contest, the Over The Top Contest, a Charity Raffle, onsite concessions and food trucks, and a host of other Special Events! FlatCon is three days of games, fun, and taking a whack at an insidious disease. What’s not to like about that? Bloomington, IL does have multiple travel options available besides driving. Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) and AmTrack in Normal, IL are both a quick taxi or Uber away. Guild Ball General Information: Appearance Standard: All models in play must be fully assembled, on appropriately sized bases. Painting is not required, but highly encouraged. Electronic Devices: The use of electronic devices for tracking health and other player stats/abilities is at the permission of your opponent. Have current copies of all physical cards ready to use if requested by your opponent. Be aware should any electronic device fail in any way, either power loss or application crash, resulting in your most current game state being lost, or recovered to a past point, you will forfeit your game to your opponent. Proxy Rule: Judge pre-approved proxies are permitted. Paper Doll proxies of any Season 3 characters from the book released or unreleased are permitted. Lucky will be permitted for Masons/Brewers teams. Blacksmiths will not be able to used for Flatcon Cup Tournament. Blacksmiths will be allowed for the other Pitch Practice and Kick About Escalation Event as either the proper models or proxies. Demos: Demos will be available for anyone interested over the weekend. Anything goes :). Steam Forged Games paper dolls are eligible to play for new players as long as they are mounted on a plastic or resin base of the appropriate size. Tournament length: “It’s not over, ‘til it’s over” 3 or 4 round event. All points are tallied at the end to determine a winner. Match win conditions: “Play to the final whistle” 12 points wins the game Round Length: “Team Tactics” Chess Clocks are set to 45 min per player, Round length is 110 min Team Roster Selection: “Strength in Depth” Fixed Captain & Mascot, plus up to 6 other model roster. Season 2 models which have been released for purchase by Steam Forged are legal for this event. Season 2 unreleased models may be proxied either through appropriate alternative models or paper dolls. Alternative models need to be approved by TOs in advance. Match Roster Selection: “Hide the team sheet” Players record in secret on their event sheet, 6 models from their team roster (including one captain and one mascot) that will be active for this match. Both players simultaneously reveal their 6 active models. Plot Cards: “Season 2” Season 2 Guild Plots will be used for this event.
