  1. Rage and Grange faced off in an intense rematch this week. The farmers captain received Mist's kick off, but fumbled his own pass back to his team. The Mysterious Shadow wasted no time in punishing this shameful display and demonstrated his mastery of the sport by scoring a goal. This only brought the farmers to anger and they crowded around the striker, allowing Tater to incapasitate him in a single decisive stroke. Rage closed in, surrounded by his blood thirsty croanies and Grange met him, but Prince Charming broke off from the crowd to hunt down Minx. Harrow and the Destined Heir proved a poor match for Harry and the Usurper. They can't be faulted for tenacity. After they were layed low once they came back for more, only to meet similar results. Final Score: Union 12, Farmers 4 Harry remarked as he left the pitch "That Rage is a real uncontrollable piece of work. These back water bumpkins didn't stand a chance."
  2. Rage and Grange met on the guild ball pitch for a grudge match to impress their shadowy patrons. The Hemlocke and Mist performed the play that is quickly becoming their signature, as the Mysterious Shadow slipped past Windle like a gentle breeze to casually score a goal. The farmers didn't take kindly to it and sent made sure Mist paid for it as the Usurper bided his time. He saw the opening he needed, and on his signal, Minx barreled across the field, snatching the ball and kicking it to her captain before weaving away. Rage made short work of Jackstraw and Benediction made a heroic last stand against the combined might of Windle Tater and Grange but ultimately succumbed to their combined assault. His sacrifice was not in vain, as it bought Rage time to position for a devistating charge that felled the Indolent Slacker as Mist casually kicked the game winning goal. Final score: Union 12, Farmers 4 Hemlocke commented after the match, gold coins practically spilling out of her dress. "A team can do great things when their captain is confident in them. In guild ball, like in life, you get what you pay for."
  3. Theron and Grange met on the pitch for a match, but neither captain managed to gain much ground. Hearne botched a promsining early game run on the goal and Windle eagerly punished him for it. The remaining hunters acted much more cautiously and deliberately, eventually overwhelming the huge farmer and creating an opening for Theron to score, but by then the sun had set and the game had to called a draw as the grounds keepers drove the players from the field. Final score: Hunters 7, Farmers 5 Theron, too tired to demonstrate good judgement when talking to the press, made a statement. "I had originally planned on utilizing Hemlocke for this match but she hasn't been returning my message. I'm starting to worry that she doesn't want to be associated with a bunch of second rate armatures."
  4. I am currently playing Farmers, but throwing my support in this event behind my beloved Butchers! I played Grange, Peck, Windle, Tater, Harrow, and Jack, my opponent brought Fillet, Princess, vOx, Boar, Meathook, and Minx. We set up using alternate deployment and Grange kicked off. The ball was promptly ignored and a massive scrum was developed in the center of the pitch with Tater, Grange, and Windle on one side, and Fillet, Boar, Meathook, and Princess on the other. Boar successfully pushed Grange into a position that protected Fillet from Windle, and turn one ended with Princess killed by a Big Breakfast'd Windle, and Meathook bloodied badly. 2-0 Farmers Turn two Windle killed Fillet and Meathook, netting another 5vp (with Big Breakfast again). VOx and Minx murdered Harrow and the ball continued sitting alone and afraid. 7-2 Farmers. Turn three Grange and Windle tag teamed Boar for another 3vp, Tater's Counter Charge was unsuccessful in saving Harrow from vOx's rage, and then is massacred himself by the newly returned Fillet. Favorite moment of the game happens with Peck Sic 'Em charges Fillet for a massive 1 Momentous Damage. She counters and kills the bird. 10-7 Farmers. Top of turn four Grange engages Fillet and vOx, knocks them both down, puts up Honest Labor, and softens up both targets. My next activation Windle lumbered over and took out vOx, ending the game at 12-7. Victory for the Farmers, and another vote for Butchers Gutter!
  5. Farmers 6 ft under

    My first encounter with Farmers went quite well allthough dice rolls made this match swingy. Teams: Pure Morticians: Obulus, Dirge, Casket, Graves1, Bonesaw, Brainpan & Memory Dirty Rednecks: Grange, Peck, Windle, Harrow, Bushel, Jack I won the initiative roll, decided I'll be receiving and planned 2 goals + casket time action. Unsurpisingly it ended up as a slaughterhouse where Spooks got upper hand. Dirge recovered the ball, failed the pass, I made some ball juggling between players to generate momentum and failed the crucial last one. Bonesaw was therefore unable to score turn 1 (Mist would do the trick but this game I'm happy I picked Shaolin Monk). Spooks won initiative roll and scored early turn 2. Windle and Grange teamed up on Casket taking him out. Obulus, Brainpan and Graves avenged him taking out Grange. Bushel made a goal run and missed her shot. Windle beat the crap out of Ferryman. Harrow got focused by Spooks and ended up closed in the casket for some more VPs. Windle took out Dirge and Brainpan while Obulus was killing the ball. Thanks to bonus VP overall score was 10:10, I won initiative for turn 4 and jumped on returning Grange. Bonesaw, Casket and Memory beat him until he stopped moving. Even his tough hide couldn't save him. 12:10 for Spooks but it was close.

Obulus Resurrects Blackheart in order to scout the upstart Farmers Death has not slowed down Blackheart one bit as he made a first turn goal run bouncing off of Grange and Harrow to get in position for a kick. Tater Charges Minx to counter the tap in threat but could not stop the Union captain. Mid turn two mist tackled Bushel to kick it out to Blackheart mid scrum. The Farmers shift to take outs and down Mist and Minx but at this point it was too late. With Mist returning at the top of turn three he manages a tackle off of scare crow mechana Jack straw and sends the last pass to the Pirate captain. What did Obulus learn from this sinister exhibition match. Though the Union leader is dead that does not stop him from dodging and scoring his way to a victory.   7. So Grange wanders forward to do horrible Grange Things to my opponent's team; and kicks off his legendary in the process. After my opponent finishes groaning, he brings in a player with a momentous knockdown for some retribution. Assuming he gets off the knockdown all 4 times: Attack 1: Grange is Sturdy and still standing. No momentum generated. Attack 2: Millstone takes one for the team, is Sturdy and still standing. No momentum generated. Attack 3: Millstone takes one for the team and gets knocked down. Is momentum generated? Attack 4: Grange finally gets knocked down. Momentum is generated. Thoughts?

    Here is a fun one for you. Drop 2 Influence from each captain. Now drop any Legendary Play. Now make a team with no captain and any mascot you want. Who is your team? EDIT: To add a few constraints and clear up vagueness. Captains can now play where ever and are considered "friendly guild models." You may still use any mascot. Other normal team building rules apply.
