  1. Suppose Squeak is engaging Mercury and Compound who is within 4" of the Alchemist's goal. Piper uses Haunting Melody to make Mercury jog to within 6" of Compound. Squeak uses Tag Along when Mercury ends his advance and moves so that no one is engaging Compound. Can Compound use Rush Keeper to charge Mercury?
  2. I've not seen Gutter in many games, but a couple of days ago I played a Vassal game against v.Rage and friends. I got Brick into a nice position in cover early, but as the scrum grew Gutter started getting off Scything Blow off of him. Then off of a KD Hammer. This was the first time I was on the receiving end of multiple Scything Blows and I don't want it to happen again. So are there any particular match ups you would let Brick stay on the bench?

    Any advice on using hammer?

    Now that SteamCon has past and been, I have recently changed my league team from the Masons Kick Off 6 to the following; Hammer, Marbles, Brick, Flint, Mallet and Tower. Only played two games with this team. Lost the testing game against Morts 12-11 (best match I ever had tbh) and lost the first league game with this team 12-4 against Blacksmiths. Is there any hints and tips that a new hammer user could learn and even apply in future games?
  4. Quick question...ok...maybe 2...and they've probably been discussed years ago... but damned if I could find the thread. Opponent charges into Brick during his activation. I choose to activate Brick's auto Counter Charge Is Bricks auto counter charge trigger nulified because the two are now engaged? If not, is the attack on Brick first in the priorety sequence or the counter charge that activates immediate upon the activation movement end? If Marbles is able to get in on the action where does his priority land?

This week I am playing against my practice partner Nick who's Masons beat both me and Alex Botts at the Grognard Games tourney last month. I would also love feedback on how the community would like their match reports. Everything from camera angle to what kind of overlays you guys want let me know!

  7. I have two scenarios I'd like clarification on, but I suspect they'll have the same answer. Tenderizer is within 4" of the butchers goal marker. Mallet activates and moves within 6" of Tenderizer. Tenderizer uses Rush Keeper to immediately charge Mallet. The mason's player declares a counter attack. Tenderizer uses his charge attack to push Mallet to be more than two inches away from himself but less than 3" away. Does Mallet's Extended Reach allow him to make the counter attack? Boar advances to within 6" of Brick. Brick uses Counter Charge to charge Boar. The butcher's player declares a counter attack. Boar's counter attack deals damage to Brick. Does this damage trigger Boar's Berzerk to give him a free attack?
  8. I'd like clarification on how multiple Counter Charge like abilities interact with each other. Consider the following scenario. In a Masons vs Butchers match in the Big League, the Butchers player has brought along Tater. Tenderizer is 3" from the Butchers' goal maker. 4" in front of him Tater stands 1" from a Harvest Marker. The Masons player activates Mallet who charges Tater. He stops to Tater's left 3" away. The Butchers player chooses to resolve Tenderizer's Rush Keeper before resolving Tater's Gerrof My Land (which he couldn't use if he resolved it now because Mallet is engaging him.) Tenderizer charges into Mallet. He stops 2" from him directly between Mallet and the Butcher's board edge so that Tenderizer is barely 4" away from Tater. The Butchers player rolls Tenderizer's attack and selects a 2" push, moving Mallot so he is no longer engaging Tater. Can Tater now trigger Gerrof My Land to charge Mallot off Mallot's charge move? Assuming that he can, if Tater moves to engage Mallot and doesn't knock him down or push him away, can Mallot resolve the attack from his charge against Tater?

  10. Good Morning, Guild Ballers. I got Brick and Chisel for Christmas, giving me a full roster for Masons - Incredibly happy as now I have options. Sorry, Harmony. It's not me, it's you. So, as I'm a bit rusty and haven't played with my Masons since September: How best to implement my shiny new players? I found I had occasional luck with Tower, and his Shut Out is pretty decent. I might be sad to see him go, but Chisel and Brick just feel like they open up so many more options. I tend to play quite conservatively (I'm a coward, ok?!) but Chisel looks effing brutal. I can see her and Mallet causing a few head aches. I tend to be quite fortunate with Marbles too - I'm wondering if getting him within Brick's Counter Charge range could be a thing? People tend to go for Marbles because his Goad trait can really ruin their plans, but if Brick is ready to stomp some heads...? Chisel has that +3 tac per activation (if she takes 3 damage?) - Superior Strategy her, and get two attempts at a savage beat down?! Am I missing anything ridiculously obvious?! So yes, to recap - Out of practice, two new players - Pls Halp.

    WIP Brick

    Hi, Well several of my Mason's have progress but Brick here is who I have decided to finish first and establish my color scheme. I just finished up the dark blue on him. Didn't want to go to high on the highlight. Wanted to keep the feel a dark blue. Next step is to highlight the dark red. Thinking of doing the hair blonde. Still not sure what color to do his apron. When a model triggers Brick's Counter Charge: Can Brick generate Momentum?Can Brick choose to do his Concussion play(assuming enough successful hits)?Does Brick's Knockback ability apply to his Counter Charge?Since it's an out of activation attack I wasn't sure if it somehow limits what can be applied, like with Counter-Attacks or Parting Blows.
  15. Hello all, My gaming club would appreciate a bit of a rules query on Counter-Charge, for example on Brick from the Masons. Does the model need to have Influence on the model in order to activate Counter-Charge, or is this done for free? I.e. Let's say Brick is unengaged and doesn't have any Influence left (either because he's already activated or didn't have any assigned…) and a model comes within 6" of him: can he charge using the Counter-Charge rule he has, or not?
