So veteran "female hat" is going to Engineer guild, but what will happen to my Harry? Will he still be playable with his current errata card rules? For how long? In the keynote the dev said "union players will no longer be available once the matching minor guild is released" so does that mean my Harry is just a useless chunk of metal soon? What about the decimate and A&G I have too? Is Steamforged going to refund my money for selling me non-playable models? I can't exactly sell them to a union player since Union is squashed soon too.
  2. Pics of the game - https://imgur.com/a/mToDM New deploy rules, forgot to play with GICs This was a game played against my roommate who was trying out Smoke for the first time. It was a pretty long game, but the Mortician's took the win. Turn 1 - Mist kicked off, running away from Vet Kat and kicking near the line between Ghast and Casket. Harry got the ball and passed it back towards calculus, also knocked down both Ghast and Casket. Obulus puppet mastered Vet Kat and made him jog backwards into rough ground, out of charging range of everyone. Calculus gave the ball to Smoke. Ghast stood up and KD'd Harry, then did 2 attacks of damage to him. Smoke got the ball to Mercury and moved up. Casket attacked Harry, leaving him at low HP. Vet Kat moved to midfield. Mist got some momentum off Vet Kat. I was up on momentum. Score 0 - 0 Turn 2 - I started with Casket, legendary play and killed Harry. Then jogged over to Vet Kat and knocked him down. Calculus laid out poison, Ghast beat on Smoke a bit. Mist danced around and stole the ball from Mercury, took a 3 dice shot and missed. Flask got the ball and brought it up to Smoke. Vet Kat KD'd Casket and did some damage. Obulus ends the turn by pupper master Smoke and make her pass back to Mist. Had to hit a 5 cuz he was engaged, got it. Decided not to snap shot but to score on first activation. Score 4 - 0 Turn 3 - Mist dodged with the ball to get momentum from Vet Kat, got it. Took another try at goal and made it this time. Calculus got the ball after throw in. Obulus went around and took the ball immediately, dodged around Caclulus and took a 2 dice shot and missed. Vet Kat killed Obulus then. Smoke got the ball and did some teleporting to score, but she was low on HP. Mist had scored and been left at 1 HP twice, but was on fire and died at the end of this turn. Score 8 - 8 Turn 4 - Obulus came back and attack Smoke, doing 3 damage to kill her. After Smokes goal, I had the ball and passed to Mist who had come in. Was able to go 10" and shoot 8" to take one last goal for the win. Score 14 - 8

    Cocky Alchies find reality

It was a clear sunny afternoon, and little Jonny was walking into to the stadium with his favourite butchers flag. The excitment was tangible, the rolling mass of butcher fans believed that this showing would be an improvement on the 12-3 loss at the last meeting. Darryl, little Jonny’s father, looked down with pride at his son who was telling a passerby how much Tendy is gonna smash today. The proud and the faithful, words the epitomises the butchers. Everyone seems to think they’re nothing but we’re winning games. As Darryl and little Jimmy find their seats, the Alchies fans start their chants and are quite vocal in remembering the last game. But the line ups are slightly different this game with vet brisket in for meathook and Calculus in for Mercury. The Butcher coach, who they believe to be the next Jose Mourinho, is sure that this to be a mistake cause now his players are hardly hindered. Little Jonny let’s out a howl for blood as Vitriol kicks off, with Shank collecting and passing to Boar. This is followed by a bit of posing by both teams as no one want to commit to early. Restlessness creeps over the Butcher fans and in particular Boar. Suddenly, channeling his inner wolf, Boar howls at the sky, KICKS THE BALL, and charges straight at vitriol,m to apply his cleaver to her messed up face. This was rewarded with a cheer from the Butcher fan, but was hushed with the approach of the gas sucking giant that is Katalyst. The initial melee starts to develop into a scrum based around Vitty and (knocked down) Katie, and Boar and Tendy. Ox, being a proponent of aggressive play, seizes the initiative, screams get ‘em lad and goes straight at Katalyst. While reducing Kat to a pulpy mass, Ox just kept looking at Midas and Vitriol informing them about the incoming butchery. Vitriol makes a play to get out of dodge but her attack is countered with Tendy’s hammer to her face, taking her out. The cacophony of bestial sounds erupting from the Butcher fans was becoming too much for the nerve of this Alchie teams young coach. The next Jose Mourinho looked up at the stands and saw a little boy about to fall from the top of the stands because of the ‘red rage’. “How could we stop this bath of blood?” No one had an answer as the big wild pig himself, Boar, just starts to attack everything, knocking players downs and applying the hurt. Calculus, under her coaches direction, moves forward to throw her black mixture at Tendy and is a success, but this leaves Midas open to a spectacular charge from Shank who soared from downtown to take advantage of the damage and knockdown already done. This charge was vintage Shank as he takes Midas out and ensures that the next stage of the game is in the butchers hands. Calculus is trapped between Shank, Tendy, and Ox. The Alchie fans have already started to leave, not wanting the see what is going to happen to their favourite (especially Smoke’s favourite ) lass. Their backs are turned to the screams from the pitch and the sound of ball on wood from a captain’s goal. Their backs are turned to the Butcher fans who their are hoping to beat home as there will be blood on the streets. Only one person remains, hooded with a tear rolling down her eye as a loved one was taken out. Smoke got up and walked to the side lines and straight up to the novice coach. ”It should have been me out there!!” She cries. She casts a steely look, full of resolve, at Ox. Ox was oblivious to this, he was to busy pretending to ride his cleaver and occasionally licking the blood from his fingers. The whole way home, Little Jonny kept telling Darryl or anyone close about the glories of today’s game. Little Jonny’s mother could hardly get him to bed that night with all the excitment. What a game! 12-0 Butchers. Butchers: Ox, Princess, Shank, Tendy, Boar, Vet Bricket. Alchemists: Midas, Flask, Harry the Hat, Vitriol, Calculus, Katalyst. P.s. won’t let me add files from my phone for the photos. Apparently too big.

    The Union Witnesses Vet Kat

In another GIC, Alternate Deployment game Smoke and her Alchemists take on Blackheart and his band of filthy pirates. The lineups were as follows: Smoke, Flask, Calculus, Venin, VetKat, and Compound Blackheart, Strongbox, Grace, Benediction, Gutter, and Mist With a poor kickoff Benediction was able to move up from the front line and score an opening goal. This left him exposed with a Vengeance token for the Alchemist team to sink their teeth into. Moving the ball out first the Alchemists positioned themselves around Benediction full of conditions for VetKat to unload on. This wouldn't get the take out but the top of turn two a Smoke legendary would take out Benediction. After this Blackheart attempted to get the ball off of Smoke but was unable to do so with Compound crowding him out. This would allow the rest of the team to gang up on Gutter who would take massive damage from Calculus, Compound, Venin, Flask and finally vKat, Kat was able to engage top of turn three and kill Gutter then charge Grace while engaging Mist who just took 7 damage from Venin mainly by conditions. After the free charge and an intensify from vKat he would turn his attention to mist who only had one health left and set off a Witness Me. This would leave the score at 8-6 with the Alchemists in control of the ball for Smoke to kick in for an easy 12-6. Harry what are you waiting for?
  5. My friend burrowed my farmers, and I was able to pick up the win 12-10!

  8. Since This season seems to be pretty dominant with the heavy kicking teams and my own league group playing a lot of Shark and Midas I wanted to pick the hunter board's collective brain on this one. What are some suggestion when facing off against the likes of Shark, Midas, Vitriol, or Greyscale? I haven't played too many games against them but I'm already having a hard time theory crafting something to win against those players let alone the rest of the team. 1. What would your recommended line up be? 2. Try to outfight/play keep away with the ball or do some scoring of your own? 3. Do I bring Hearne1 to deal with UM and 2"? Should I bring the bear (now I'm working with 10 INF)?
  9. Greetings forum dwellers! Episode 7 of Run The Length is up! This time I play against Zachary Gray's Hunters. Zach is on the USA's WTC Team and was nice enough to play his off guild for me. Due to very fortunate timing the game uses the new OPD. Let me know your thoughts on the game by commenting here or on the video. Why Midas?

Am I the only person who never liked Midas? I have played Alchemists since I started playing when season 2 came out, and all I heard was: "Midas is so good! OMG Midas best captain in the game! He is so great! Why would anyone ever not run Midas forever?!?" But I never got the hype. He is decent I guess, but I always like the control and synergy of Smoke more than the randomness and influence hogging of Midas. I actually like him a little better now in Season 3 after he lost his terrible power steal ability (which was also over-hyped and never worth the influence cost) and now seems like a point guard to move the ball to Vitriol (but his poor kicking ability is annoying). What am I missing? I just don't get it...

  16. Making sure I have the timing for when to trigger Witness Me! down correct. Since Witness Me! is a Heroic Play, it must be played as an action before the Attack action that takes out an enemy model. Because of the timing sequence of an Attack and when the Taken Out condition is resolved, you cannot interrupt the Attack action to play Witness Me! after the enemy model losses it's last hit point but before the Taken Out condition is resolved. Am I correct in my thinking?
  17. Fellow Guild Ball enthusiasts (Guildballers?) I have started a YouTube channel where I plan on posting game play commentaries. Check out my first video here or below.
  18. Finally I'm all pumped to show the miniatures I painted for my Alchemist team. And the first guys from my brand new Union... while lamenting how hard it is to get a nice yellow or white right... I just took a yellow/white/black paintscheme for my Union- time for the "I AM SO SMART! SMRT"-dance. Full team: Close up1: Mist/Decimate front: Mist/Decimate backs: Sorry for the crappy mobile phone pictures. I will re-upload them after I can get my hands on a decent camera.

    Brand New to Guild Ball

Hi Folks. I went to Salute recently and had a demo of guild ball. It didn't go well, my son did me over by taking out 2 of my team and then scoring a goal whilst I desperately ran away! I decided that the Fishermen weren't for me and thought I'd give the Alchemists a try. I'm playing a friend in a couple of weeks time in my second game of guild ball and I have a problem. He has the mortician's guild and has done his research on here and even gone and bought some reinforcements too. Cheeky blighter... I've got the following models to play with.. Midas, Calculus, Venin, Compound, Mercury, Katalyst, Vitriol and Flask. I was thinking of running something like - Midas, Mercury, Catalyst, Vitriol and Flask. I don't know whether to take Compound, Katalyst or Venin with this team. I'm thinking Katalyst would help with his intensify, but then I like the defence of Venin and compound looks cool (which goes a long way in my book) Would any experienced Alchemists mind giving me some advice as to which might synergise better and things to watch out for in my Second game? Thanks so much 'Squish

    Who is your star player?

So discounting Midas and Flask, who is your star player? Watch the video to find out mine.
  21. Watching the latest Hot Gaming Game Video around the 22:00 mark somebody (think it was Shark) charged one of the Alchemists but did so in a way to be 2 inches from Compound to "engage" him too to prevent the Rush Keeper. Have they played it correctly? I thought when the charge movement was complete (an advance) Compound can immediately make his own charge?
  22. So I am wanting to start playing, and welling to buy in, I just think alchemists look like fun. I plan to play in my lgs competitive league, and wanted to know if a general lineup for a blind meta had been considered optimal. I have also heard from people that you need 6 models, and I have heard 8, so what is it? Is it different points or player amounts? Is it used as a sort of side board?
