    My Butchers :)

Brisket Ox and Boiler Princess Meathook Boar Shank
  2. I recently believed, like many Butcher coaches in the US, that Shank is hot garbage and Ox is sub-par. Fillet all the way, am I right? I am wrong. Not only is Ox competitive but he's probably more competitive than Fillet and also, if you played with Shank in your lineup more often than you'd probably win more games. http://midwestwargaming.com/ox-shank-competitive-interview-greg-day/
  3. The Butchers are a big team and I'm playing them a lot. Here are my thoughts.

    Shank - Help?

I've finally gotten my third game in, and every game it feels like I struggle to get any mileage out of Shank. I look at his abilities and model and want them to work but I feel like I haven't gotten an opportunity with him. In my first game he was taken out in two hits (which was due to phenomenal dice on my opponent's part). In two of those games, I ran: Ox, Princess, Boiler, Shank, Brisket, and Boar. These games I tried to play more of a fighty focus with my Butchers. These games were both against Union teams. The first one he ran more of an actual football team where he was blown apart by Minx. In the second game my opponent ran a much more fighty list and I tried to keep Shank out of the fray and use him to get an easy goal but the shot missed and Shank was immediately punished by the enemy team. My third game was against Morticians. Even though that game ended 12-8 as a loss, it not only felt like a much more disheartening loss but Obulous was able to Confidence - Puppet Strings Shank to pass the ball - Confidence himself and score the game winner. I've learned the lesson that defense 4 isn't the top of the world but it certainly feels like it's not a problem for anyone to hit him. I try to keep him on the wings but then I feel like he's missing out on plays. I'm still incredibly new to the game but I'm having a hard time with Butchers and Shank in particular right now. It's a duality of not wanting to have him get got in the scrum but I want him to contribute and as a footballer I've had way more success with Brisket (my first goal was a screamer :D). What am I doing wrong with him?
