Game plan deck vs Plot cards

Will do, if there is one thing playing Guild Ball taught me was expect change .... lots of change!! One of the reasons I had a break actually it was just really annoying me. I know they care and want to balance things but the amount of core mechanic changes was really (and probably still will) driving me crazy

    Ch-ch-ch Changes !!

So I was curious of other peoples opinions on something I have been 'chewing' over recently and that is the coming changes. Now the changes themselves seem quite good, I've agreed with most if not all and thank Steamforged for their constant support of their awesome game. However, and this isn't a table flip moment, the constant changes are beginning to annoy me. It seems that every six months we have a couple of months where we are waiting for the next raft of changes (or season) to hit or are still waiting for models to be released and are left with models that are .... not unplayable by any means, but when I know they are going to change soon I feel I'm 'wasting' my time playing them in their current format. I am a father of two young boys so my gaming time is limited if that helps put things in perspective. As a Brewers player primarily I currently have Tapper (change), Stoker (change), Scum (change), Vet Spigot (unreleased) and finally Quaff (only just released) for a total of 5 models out of my roster in some sort of flux, sure I can use proxies and this and that and it isn't like they are broken right now but just highlighting my point. I do however appreciate that the game is still new and Steamforged are probably still finding their feet and getting things balanced but if this were to continue it would be a real negative for the game in the longer term. Are the new seasons to close to one another ? should they take a little more time to nail it first time ? Obviously they need to advance to make ££ to continue making this awesome game. Anyway, that is my musings. Again thank you Steamforged for your efforts but I am a little 'nervous' of the future. Dave
  6. Pretty sure @JJLayfield and @MattyBurns are keen, do you need confirmation soon ??

Actually in a game last night Stoker scored a goal for me and missed a second (w/ 3 dice .. boo) so he can certainly sneak up there as a foil for Mash and suddenly be a 2nd (3rd) goal threat.

I find his 'link' to Stave really annoying. I think with 2/4 INF he would be a totally fine situational (with Esters) player. Running him at 1/4 feels like I'm missing out on something, he does work well with Esters but as mentioned above he asks a lot. I'm still going to run him as I like him with Esters with and without Stave but do feel he is just 'not quite right'
  16. I faced two masons in a tournament yesterday and went 1-1 but both time the double activation of Mallet or Chisel just wreaked a couple of players. What strategies to people try and apply with this matchup, seems it is almost impossible to stop some one on my team getting taken out and also hand the next turn to the opposition due to the momentum gathered. Any theories welcome.

    Kicking team

I actually have on my painting atm both Esters (like most I imagine) and Stoker so will be keen to hear how others go and will had in thoughts as well once I test it.

    Defence Vs Masons double activation

Hi @JJLayfield, Thanks again for arse kic.... err game yesterday! Stave should have been there in hindsight (I think) but he does, like most the big guys run the risk of becoming a momentum vending machine. That said he will be in the starting line up in the next few games against Masons .... or will he hehe Thanks all for the other suggestions, Esters is literally on the painting table now. I agree that hanging back is not helpful in the long run ... just move up normally or just a little of normal, took for the lob and try and make a decent defensive (DEF 5, ARM 2 Friday? Someone is going to go down so the hardest to hit quickest to get back seems a possibility) line and aim for the counters. While I won't wheel out the nerf bat call yet, extra activation in a small model game is quite powerful, has less impact in Malifaux as you have (generally) more models. We will see.

My Brewer lessons from Capital Slam

Yes this was something I took from Saturday as well, just walk up and swing away using Command Aura in conjunction with those swings.. as you get a 'free' move charging for 10 dice compared to a swing of 7 (w Command Aura) giving extra damage and then hopefully additional attacks from Old Jakes or just other influence seems more worthwhile. The charge is obviously great for longer range when needed but not always necessary otherwise me thinks.
  20. I crowd surfed a Kraken (w. 3 influence on him) over the weekend. Does give you a warm fuzzy
  21. Many thanks again to Richard for running the comp. Great day, got to play Alchemist (bye team), Union, Fishermen and Masons for lots of variety. My favourite play of the day was when Flint scored against me in Turn 1 with his tricksy shenanigans (including a knee slide to ALMOST safety) how ever a well placed barrel, a charging Tapper and a tooled up Friday saw Flint also get taken out in the first turn. Brewer don't much appreciate that fancy dan rubbish!!
