  1. Non Thresher Farmers - Anyone trying this?

I played a Grange team last night: Grange, Peck, Fallow, Harrow, Millstone, Tater. I was playing against Ballista Engineer's. The team overall felt very strong, and once I was in control of the ball and had a scrum going on their end of the field I felt like I was in a good spot. Cocky on Millstone is ridiculous. Grange, Fallow, and Harrow are very good friends. TAC 9 Fallow getting +2 to damage is absurd (3 base, +5 With Age..., +1 Honest Labour + any number of crowd outs). The only downside is the Engineer's are very heavy on tough hide (also gluttonous mass), so I don't think the game was overall a strong example of how the team would normally play. The other downside is this setup doesn't have a great propensity for footballing, which was notable. I have a couple other ideas for teams too - Football Grange: Buckwheat, Bushel, Jackstraw, Millstone, Tater Balanced Grange: Buckwheat, Fallow, Jackstraw, Millstone, Tater
  2. Optimal Thresher Turn 1?

Thanks! I finally got to play a couple games last night with Thresher, and I have to say, I'm hooked. Farmer's feel really good. I didn't get to try out Grange, but I'm looking forward to that too!
  3. Optimal Thresher Turn 1?

Awesome, I'm looking forward to getting some games in with them. Another question - if kicking, Thresher is the obvious choice. But what about when receiving? Is Thresher still a solid choice of should I go with Grange? What are the trade-offs there?
  4. Farmer's Metal/ Resin?

Is there any chance we might get a Metal or Resin release for the PVC teams? The PVC for the Farmer's was better than I expected, but it's still sorely lacking when compared to the kind of detail of metal models - and I have to say SFG have some of the best metal models on the market. I'm a big fan of the Farmer's and would very much love a set that I can put a ton of time and attention into painting and not be hampered by soft details and terrible mold lines. Any other's feeling the same?
  5. Optimal Thresher Turn 1?

Just picking up the Farmer's, looking at starting with Thresher, Buckwheat, Millstone, Jackstraw, Harrow, Tater. I know I want to look to kick with Thresher, but what is my optimal order of activations? Should Harrow go first or Millstone? Does Millstone only need to push Tater and Thresher? Any insight or referrals to articles would be appreciated!
  6. Cogs sure are a quiet bunch...

Anybody have any good resources/ articles aside from what's stickied in this forum?
  7. Alternate Sculpts

I would really like an alternate Pin Vice, I don't think the original sculpt is very good.
  8. Throwing paint at models to see what sticks

    I think it looks great!
  9. Concept Art Inspired Teams

Took a group pic. I'm intending to re-paint Greyscales as I painted him before I decided on the color palette, and as you can see, he stands out.

Insomnia: Not so bad when you have models to paint...
  11. Gumbafish's project log (Blacksmiths)

Nice work! The skin tone on Anvil turned out really nicely. I also really like the cool metallics you've achieved. Sledge's pupils look a little small though. One trick is to use one small dot in the same corner of both eyes instead of trying to fit a perfect sized pupil in the center. It'll read like they're looking to the left or right but it's very easy to do. Looking forward to seeing more!
  12. Escalation League Fish

What would you recommend? Also, what kind of team is he good in?
  13. [W] Limited Edition Kraken

Anyone have a limited edition Kraken they're willing to part with?
  14. Escalation League Fish

Hi! I'm starting an Escalation League next week, and I've settled on Shark, Greyscales, Siren as my starting 3. I plan to add Salt for week 4, but I'm considering what I'd like to add beyond that. I'm thinking either Jac or Kraken after that (really leaning toward Kraken), and then taking Sakana to fill the final slot. What are your thoughts on Fish for this format? Do you think my planned roster will make for a strong team? Any advice?

Finished Shark and Salt. I know... I deviated from the plan a little. I just really like the natural coloration of otters and after having painted Shark's face I couldn't bring myself to cover it up. I also thought the platinum blonde was just a little too wild, though it did look cool in person. So here's my Escalation League week 1 team, right in time for next week!
