They look awesome! Better than mine haha. I need to sort my bases out, they bring a lot of life to it. How do you do yours? I really like the rubble and grass.

    Painting - Need Advice

Haven't posted in a while as I've been pretty busy. Recieved Artorias the other day so that got me back in the mood, looking forward to seeing people tackling that set. Been wanting to do the Gargoyle for a while so decided to give it a go. I struggle with flesh compared to armour, I never seem to get the shades quite right but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. I love the look of the copper patina paint, thought I might have over done it a bit. All in all I'm relatively happy

Old Dragonslayer? Where does it say about that? Have I missed something?

Thanks guys! I'm quite proud of them so far! I think I'll start a new thread over there and leave this one here as a bit of a blog where I'll post the others as I finish painting them

Quick update, done the Titanite Demon today. Winged knight is nearly done but I don't have a blue so I'll finish it when I do
  8. I decided to have a go at painting Ornstein and Smough today. I used to paint miniatures when I was younger, was never that good at it though. Its been a long time since I've done any but I figured, as they're pretty much just one colour they can't be too bad. This is what I ended up with. I'm pretty happy with them (I'll sort the bases at some point). Next I plan on doing the Titanite Demon because, once again, its practically just one colour. Then the Winged Knight because its just silver armour and a blue cloth so hopefully that should be fairly straight forward too. I need some help with the Gargoyle though. I really like the Oxidised Copper (Nihilakh Oxide) look for the metal that people are going with but I'm stuck on how I'm going to do the fleshy area. I'd like to stick close to the game where I can and people have made some great looking brown/flesh/earthy colours for that but i really don't know where to begin and how the best way to achieve that would be. So I need some advice, preferably using Citadel paints. Dancer and Outrider I've no idea how I'm going to do. I don't have the skill to make that veil on the dancer look right and the Outrider armour is actually just silver.. Its the frosty effects and bluish glow that set it apart so i might leave those two out for now. Then it's time to focus on the minions But any advice, particularity on the gargoyle would be much appreciated Thanks

    Journey into the painted world.

Wow they look fantastic! Wish I could paint like that!
  10. Thanks! Yeah ideally I'd have given individual slots of character specific stuff but we're limited on space. And that would mean some slots only have 4-14 cards depending on whether or not you put the treasure items with the starter items.
  11. Hey folks, (Sorry if this is in the wrong section: Mods feel free to move) I backed the Dark Souls Board Game during the Kickstarter campaign and was extremely happy when the game turned up last week (Unfortunately I haven't had chance to play it yet though). I've backed a few projects on Kickstarter before so I'm always a bit nervous. Needless to say I'm really happy with the overall quality of the game, especially the miniatures! (Though some aren't that miniature!). The cards are all really good quality too. The only small gripe I had was the Card Organiser. I can't complain because the focus is always to get everything packed inside the box, and that they did. But I'm a bit anal and I like to have my cards sorted and ready to play. I don't like having to spend ages sorting the cards before a game and later realise that I've managed to misplace one. So I came up with my own solution. It's my first time ever designing something like this so I'm pretty happy it worked out first time. I had to make it a little taller in order to fit the 60 treasure cards in one section and avoid them sliding out or having to split the deck. It does still fit in the box but its dependant on how you organise all the other counters and tokens underneath. I like to keep mine in sorted bags. But in the worst case scenario all it does is lift the lid a few mm. I could have tidied up the laser marks a bit by sanding but I quite like the "burnt" look Let me know what you think! S7ewie
