  1. Ratcatchers Guild

They are being sold as 6-player boxes of just the new players. Presumably, they will have a goal, terrain piece, and ball like the other recent 6-player boxes. For the Ratcatchers, at least, they are releasing alternate models of the two old Morticians players that will play with the new team (Veteran Graves & Bonesaw) with the launch party kit. There doesn't appear to be any other plans to make the older models more available for buyers of the minor guilds.
  2. 2 names on Longshanks.

I like this idea in theory. Problem is that it would allow people to shanghai other accounts *very* easily. The process really needs to be controlled in order to work. I'm going to add a feature at some point that will let people request a merger of two specific profiles so that all I need to do is "approve" or "disapprove". The process already isn't difficult (for me), but that should make it easier (for everyone else).
  3. Need Help !!!!!

According to http://steamforged.com/pundits/ there are pundits in the Tampa area, Orlando, Palm Bay, and Ocala (though that list isn't updated frequently and may be out of date). Phil from Guild Ball Tonight is from the Tampa area, I believe, so I imagine there are players there. If those places are too far away, then it may just be up to you to drum up some action
  4. GB resolution for –18?

Get events from East Asia and Africa on the Longshanks (to complete the set of continents). Increase the Longshanks presence of South America, the Middle East, and Oceania. Have a winning record (50% or higher) in tournament games. ... the third goal seems hardest by a significant margin.
  5. Weird Forum error?

FWIW, it's been happening to me for the last several months, not weeks. If anyone wants a fix, install the Chrome extension called "Stylish" and add a custom style for the domain "forums.steamforged.com" with the following contents: .focus-post-bar .cTopic .ipsItemControls { margin-left: 0 !important; padding-left: 0 !important; } That at least makes the bar not hover over the avatar/title section.
  6. Save a swift strike?

Sorry to hijack, but does this mean you could do a regular attack, kill the target, then charge a new target and use both Berserk attacks on the second target?
  7. I've been saying for a while that I think the smartest decision they could make in regards to the plastic re-release would be to simultaneously release the second set of six for each of the Brewers and Masons as the first set. This would open up a huge, easy market of people who have already bought plastics and may want to expand their teams.
  8. Printmakr for Steamcon creations

Having seen a sample of the models that their 3D printer is capable of making ... that doesn't sound like an unreasonable price at all. We're not talking about public access 3D printers or even Shapeways quality - this is something you could use as a master for production molds. Ridiculously high quality for stereolithography.
  9. New PVC Teams

Two minor guilds per year would mean Farmers and Blacksmiths wouldn't get new models (other than potential SteamCon exclusives) until ... 2022? Don't know about you, but having each team only get one new release (and not even one directly for them) over the next 5-6 years seems a bit too slow.
  10. Playing Butchers at LCQ

@Pending Forum Suspension I played against your friend Jeff - we had a fun Fillet mirror match that had some really good back-and-forth. I ended up losing 12-6, but the game felt a lot tighter than that. My experience at the LCQ was ... Farmers. I played into Thresher twice and Grange once. The Thresher games were rough. He feels like a super-Fillet. I got royally 12-0'd in one game and 12-6d in the other. The 12-6 game was winnable, but I made a dumb mistake that resulted in me wasting a Fillet activation and *not* killing Thresher. Game went downhill after that. I managed to 12-0 the Grange team, though. I think we've got a much better shot against his team than Thresher's.
  11. What about a "Creator" sub?

The quote bar is back to being in the middle of each post for me (It's actually appearing immediately after the last line of text in each post, if that helps solve any CSS mysteries.)
  12. What about a "Creator" sub?

It seems to have *fixed* that problem for me. Been doing that for a few weeks now and just stopped today.
  13. Union/Church - I'm confused!

I think the most likely scenario is that we will get a box that is Brisket, Pride, Grace, Benediction, Harry, sSpigot, and Mist. While they've shown the willingness to take away Union options from other guilds, I don't think it's likely that they will remove options from the Union itself. My suspicion is that all of the current Union players in the above list will either become dual guild or will get Veteran versions in the Solthecian box. I believe them becoming dual guild is much more likely. The box is introducing fewer players, so there are fewer opportunities from which to select the four crossover players. I think the four will be Mist, Harry, Grace, and Benediction. Perhaps Brisket as well, though I think it would be fine if Union lost her.
  14. Release Schedule - what we know

From my point of view, the Jedi are evil! I suppose that point could be made. Even so, it would be a lot more fun and exciting to get a new product for your guild every few months than a box of six - and only that one box of six - at some point in the next two years. My comment was also in response to the UiC models being all sold together in one box - if you only play one of those teams, then you either have to skip that release or buy four models you don't want to get the one that you do. Sort of a big thumb of the nose at anyone who doesn't collect all the teams.
  15. Release Schedule - what we know

There business model seems to be shifting to one where players are assumed to buy all (or at least many) of the guilds.
  16. Skulk Goal Rats

Follow-up question: If you place the ball at the target spot, can a model within 1" of the target spot snap the ball, or has the entire snap-to action been clarified to include an "except during a scatter" clause?
  17. What's next for Guild Ball?

Can't agree more. Completing the move to plastic ASAP would be good for new players because, well, the plastic full-team boxes are just good for new players. It would also be good for existing players because it would, like you say, end a lot of confusion about how things will be packaged and sold from now on. I think the plastic team boxes are around 90% of what you need to play. Something SFG could do to make them closer to 100% would be to include cardboard widgets like the ones in the Kick-Off set. Sure, a lot of people won't need them and plenty will get thrown out due to owning multiples, but for those new players it's the last bit of stuff that you need to play that team. The other thing they should do is take the cardboard pitch that came in the Kick-Off box and sell it on its own. The official (and even unofficial) neoprene pitches are expensive and many stores that I've been to don't even carry them. If new players could get a cardboard pitch for $10 when they buy their $50 team box (that also includes widgets), then they would have a much easier time getting started, I think. Agree on this, too. Another Kick-Off box with two different teams (whether its Butchers/Fishermen or some other combo) coming out for the holidays this year would have been (is?) a great idea.
  18. Skulk Goal Rats

Glad I'm not the only one bothered by this. The only time the ball is ever placed "during a scatter" is at the very end. They seem to be intending that the "place" at the end of the scatter doesn't count as "during" the scatter, so the phrase in Goal Rats about "except during a scatter" is irrelevant in the rules. That situation is literally impossible, so I'm not sure why it's called out in the ability.
  19. Which Guilds would you like to see next?

    Ee-diddle eye-diddle eh-diddle oh! Pass the ball round then score a go-oal!
  20. Which Guilds would you like to see next?

Seamstresses (as advertised here) is just a bad idea. Please no. The physicians/apothecaries are banned from playing in the fluff because of their ability to change game outcomes. I suspect a bankers' guild would be banned for similar reasons. I think a Scholars' guild could be fun. I would imagine low TAC and kick distances, but high kick accuracy and character plays that automatically hit (i.e. they are really good at making and carrying out plans).
  21. These things will probably all happen once the GiC preview ends and they become a "real" thing.
  22. Like to role-play? Have a deep-seated desire to hit other humans and not get in trouble? Want to re-enact your favorite Guild Ball moments in real life? Need something to do after scrubbing out of the US Nationals LCQ? I'd like to invite you all to ... LIVE ACTION GUILD BALL! Let's go outside and play this game we all love but in a more three-dimensional, real-life kind of way. I'm targeting Friday afternoon for this event (which is entirely unsponsored, unsanctioned, and probably will be heavily discouraged by Steamforged Games). As soon as we have twelve interested players, the game will begin! Rules: Weapons allowed but not required - must be Nerf-style safe weapons Take-outs will be simulated by knocking people over (tripping not allowed) When a player is "taken out," they tag someone in from the sidelines to replace them Scoring as in tabletop Guild Ball Put good-ol Illinois snow on your bruises (real-life Icy Sponge action!) Think full-contact soccer with foam swords and hammers If this goes well and there is interest, we can play multiple games or even have another round on Saturday. For weapons, I'll suggest Whombatz - they sell cheap, safe foam swords, daggers, axes, hammers, and even a shield. You can probably Amazon ship these to the hotel if you're flying into town. You can also go the PVC tube and pool noodle route (I'll likely be making a few of these to bring). If you are interested in playing, reply to the thread - it'd be great to get a rough head count before the big day.
  23. Minimum Age?

I was going to suggest something like this. You could even hide parts of the card until you decide to teach the kid. That might also work as a kind of reward for learning? I'd start with just stat lines, playbooks, and health. Reveal character plays next and then finally the back of the card.
  24. ***SPOILERS*** What is a veteran?

I imagine that if the name "Harry" is kept, it will be strictly for balance reasons (i.e. they don't want this new player to be used simultaneously with current Harry). The one we have now is called Harry "the Hat" - the Hat is the thing that carries on, not the Harry. Harry the Hat is dead. Long live Harriet the Hat!
