  1. Harry?

    So veteran "female hat" is going to Engineer guild, but what will happen to my Harry? Will he still be playable with his current errata card rules? For how long? In the keynote the dev said "union players will no longer be available once the matching minor guild is released" so does that mean my Harry is just a useless chunk of metal soon? What about the decimate and A&G I have too? Is Steamforged going to refund my money for selling me non-playable models? I can't exactly sell them to a union player since Union is squashed soon too.

Since This season seems to be pretty dominant with the heavy kicking teams and my own league group playing a lot of Shark and Midas I wanted to pick the hunter board's collective brain on this one. What are some suggestion when facing off against the likes of Shark, Midas, Vitriol, or Greyscale? I haven't played too many games against them but I'm already having a hard time theory crafting something to win against those players let alone the rest of the team. 1. What would your recommended line up be? 2. Try to outfight/play keep away with the ball or do some scoring of your own? 3. Do I bring Hearne1 to deal with UM and 2"? Should I bring the bear (now I'm working with 10 INF)?

  6. Why Midas?

    Am I the only person who never liked Midas? I have played Alchemists since I started playing when season 2 came out, and all I heard was: "Midas is so good! OMG Midas best captain in the game! He is so great! Why would anyone ever not run Midas forever?!?" But I never got the hype. He is decent I guess, but I always like the control and synergy of Smoke more than the randomness and influence hogging of Midas. I actually like him a little better now in Season 3 after he lost his terrible power steal ability (which was also over-hyped and never worth the influence cost) and now seems like a point guard to move the ball to Vitriol (but his poor kicking ability is annoying). What am I missing? I just don't get it...

  12. Making sure I have the timing for when to trigger Witness Me! down correct. Since Witness Me! is a Heroic Play, it must be played as an action before the Attack action that takes out an enemy model. Because of the timing sequence of an Attack and when the Taken Out condition is resolved, you cannot interrupt the Attack action to play Witness Me! after the enemy model losses it's last hit point but before the Taken Out condition is resolved. Am I correct in my thinking?

  14. Finally I'm all pumped to show the miniatures I painted for my Alchemist team. And the first guys from my brand new Union... while lamenting how hard it is to get a nice yellow or white right... I just took a yellow/white/black paintscheme for my Union- time for the "I AM SO SMART! SMRT"-dance. Full team: Close up1: Mist/Decimate front: Mist/Decimate backs: Sorry for the crappy mobile phone pictures. I will re-upload them after I can get my hands on a decent camera.
  15. Brand New to Guild Ball

    Hi Folks. I went to Salute recently and had a demo of guild ball. It didn't go well, my son did me over by taking out 2 of my team and then scoring a goal whilst I desperately ran away! I decided that the Fishermen weren't for me and thought I'd give the Alchemists a try. I'm playing a friend in a couple of weeks time in my second game of guild ball and I have a problem. He has the mortician's guild and has done his research on here and even gone and bought some reinforcements too. Cheeky blighter... I've got the following models to play with.. Midas, Calculus, Venin, Compound, Mercury, Katalyst, Vitriol and Flask. I was thinking of running something like - Midas, Mercury, Catalyst, Vitriol and Flask. I don't know whether to take Compound, Katalyst or Venin with this team. I'm thinking Katalyst would help with his intensify, but then I like the defence of Venin and compound looks cool (which goes a long way in my book) Would any experienced Alchemists mind giving me some advice as to which might synergise better and things to watch out for in my Second game? Watching the latest Hot Gaming Game Video around the 22:00 mark somebody (think it was Shark) charged one of the Alchemists but did so in a way to be 2 inches from Compound to "engage" him too to prevent the Rush Keeper. Have they played it correctly? I thought when the charge movement was complete (an advance) Compound can immediately make his own charge?
  18. So I am wanting to start playing, and welling to buy in, I just think alchemists look like fun. I plan to play in my lgs competitive league, and wanted to know if a general lineup for a blind meta had been considered optimal. I have also heard from people that you need 6 models, and I have heard 8, so what is it? Is it different points or player amounts? Is it used as a sort of side board?
  19. So first tournament with the alchemists, especially with the slightly oddball way i run them. Line up of Midas, Vitriol, Flask, Snakeskin, Decimate, Mist, Compound and Hemlocke. Overall i'm very happy with how the team ran, most games went to plan. The last game got a little frantic after going to time because of two missed goals (5 dice and 4 respectively) and some incredibly unlucky scatters from me putting the ball in very dead places. 4 rounds, 12-2, 12-0, 12-0, 9-8. I put a pretty sizeable post in the midas ball thread if anyone would like more insight in to the team.
  20. Noxious blast

    So I was looking at Hemlocke and Calculus and realized that noxious blast is different for each of them. On Calculus, it says that models entering or ending their activation in the aoe are affected by poison, but in Hemlocke it's entering or beginning. Is one typoed and if so which one? I imagine it's an error since both players have the same names ability.
